Goodbye to the double 2s, hello to 23!

22 Nov

My yummy chocolate cake!

I have to admit, I’ve always looked forward to celebrating my birthday.  In the past, it was always thought of beforehand, but this year seems to be quite different.  I really have no idea why things just seemed to be unplanned all of a sudden.

The mixed thing my mother cooked. Tasted great! 😀

I have to say that my 22nd celebration wasn’t that fun at all, as it was more of my mother who invited all of the people (no friends of mine were there, mostly just close relatives).  So, yes, it was a miserable celebration for me (good thing my sister’s friends were there so I had company).  It was planned but mostly by my mom.

This year, nothing was planned.  I didn’t even know if I’d be celebrating.  I spent most of the day finishing my articles and the rest of the day napping.  Around 5 in the afternoon, my parents arrived and my mom was looking all worried and she just kept on repeating that she had to cook.  Only then did I know that she went last minute shopping and was going to prepare a simple dinner celebration for my birthday 🙂

Yeah, I like kid's spaghetti. hahaha

So our dinner consisted of the following: spaghetti, dinuguan (it’s a viand made out of pig’s innards and blood), and mung sprouts with sayote (I don’t know what it’s called in English hahha) and shrimp.  For dessert, we had buko salad (stringed coconut meat mixed with fruit, cream, and sweetened milk) and chocolate cake (which also served as my birthday cake).  And I had a few gifts from my sister and her friends! So sweet of them to remember. 🙂

I never really thought about it, but simplicity is still the best.  My brother and sister who are outside the Philippines also took the time to send me a message on my special day 🙂 I thank God for giving me another year.  Smashing at 23! 😀

All smiles at 23 😉

For all those who greeted, thank you very much! 🙂

Wishing that my wishes will come true 🙂
